Cloud Computing Technology

Virtual private servers bridge the gap between shared web hosting services and dedicated hosting services giving independence from other customers of the VPS service in software terms but at less cost than a physical dedicated server.

Cloud computing technology allows consumers and businesses to use applications without installation and access their personal files at any computer with internet access. This technology allows for much more efficient computing by centralizing storage, memory, processing and bandwidth. Cloud hosting sites basically operate across various web servers that are interconnected, and as opposed to traditional hosting forms such as shared hosting, and dedicated hosting, data is rendered from various servers.

Dedicated servers  hosting are always located in a secure and stable data center saving you from infrastructural investments. You've complete control over the server, and hence you can customize the performance levels of the server completely.

Web Design Process

Following A Web Design Process

Following a detailed website design and development process can speed up your work and help your client understand your role in the project.

What is  Web Design Process ?

A Web development process is a documented outline of the steps needed to be taken from start to finish in order to complete a typical Web design project. Here is a standard process that was put together using examples from around the Web.

Planning

The planning stage is arguably the most important, because what’s decided and mapped here sets the stage for the entire project. This is also the stage that requires client interaction and the accompanying attention to detail.

                     1.Requirement Analysis
                     2.Project charter
3.Contracts that define roles, copyright and financial points
4.Gain access to servers and build folder structure
5.Determine required software and resources (photography, fonts, etc.)

Design

The design stage typically involves moving the information outlined in the planning stage further into reality. The main deliverables are a documented site structure and, more importantly, a visual representation. Upon completion of the design phase, the website should more or less have taken shape, but for the absence of the content and special features.

1.Wire frame and design elements planning
                     2.Mock-ups based on requirements analysis
                     3.Review and approval cycle
                     4.Slice and code valid XHTML/CSS

Development

Development involves the bulk of the programming work, as well as loading content (whether by your team or the client’s). Keep code organized and commented, and refer constantly to the planning details as the full website takes shape. Take a strategic approach, and avoid future hassles by constantly testing as you go.

                   1.Build development framework.
2.Code templates for each page type.
3.Develop and test special features and interactivity.
                   4.Fill with content.
5.Test and verify links and functionality.

Launch

The purpose of the launch phase is to prepare the website for public viewing. This requires final polishing of design elements, deep testing of interactivity and features and, most of all, a consideration of the user experience. An important early step in this phase is to move the website, if need be, to its permanent Web server. Testing in the production environment is important because different servers can have different features and unexpected behavior (e.g. different database host addresses).

                1.Polishing
                2.Transfer to live server
                3.Testing
4.Final cross-browser check (IE, Firefox, Chrome, Safari, Opera)

Documenting The Process

Create and retain two versions of your Web design process:

One for you or your team to use as a guide as you work on the back end, and one to share with clients. The differences between the two should be intrinsically clear: yours would be much more detailed and contain technical resources to help with development; the client’s would be a concise, non-technical map of the process from start to finish.

Common tools for documenting the business process are a simple Microsoft Word document, Microsoft Visio and mind-mapping software such as Free mind. If you’re ambitious, you could even develop your own internal Web-based tool.

Web hosting service

A web hosting service is a type of Internet hosting service that allows individuals and organizations to make their own website accessible via the World Wide Web. Web hosts are companies that provide space on a server they own or lease for use by their clients as well as providing Internet connectivity, typically in a data center. Web hosts can also provide data center space and connectivity to the Internet for servers they do not own to be located in their data center, called colocation or Housing as it is commonly called in Latin America or France.

The scope of web hosting services varies greatly. The most basic is web page and small-scale file hosting, where files can be uploaded via File Transfer Protocol (FTP) or a Web interface. The files are usually delivered to the Web "as is" or with little processing. Many Internet service providers (ISPs) offer this service free to their subscribers. People can also obtain Web page hosting from other, alternative service providers. Personal web site hosting is typically free, advertisement-sponsored, or inexpensive. Business web site hosting often has a higher expense.
Single page hosting is generally sufficient only for personal web pages. A complex site calls for a more comprehensive package that provides database support and application development platforms (e.g. PHP, Java, Ruby on Rails, ColdFusion, and ASP.NET).

These facilities allow the customers to write or install scripts for applications like forums and content management. For e-commerce, SSL is also highly recommended.

The host may also provide an interface or control panel for managing the Web server and installing scripts as well as other modules and service applications like e-mail. Some hosts specialize in certain software or services (e.g. e-commerce). They are commonly used by larger companies to outsource network infrastructure to a hosting company.

Social Media New Updates

TWITTER Introduced Brand Page

Twitter is a free social networking and micro-blogging service that allows users to send "updates" (text-based posts, up to 140 characters long) via SMS, instant messaging, email, to the Twitter website, or an application such as Twitterrific. Twitter was founded in March 2006 by San Francisco start-up company Obvious Corp. In April 2007, Obvious, LLC spun off the service as a separate entity under the name Twitter, Inc. with Jack Dorsey as CEO.

Twitter Launches Major Redesign

Twitter has introduced a whole new look for Twitter.com and TweetDeck, as well as its mobile apps, that it hopes will simplify the user experience.

As the video above outlines, Twitter also introduced three new buttons at the top of the page — Home, @Connect and #Discover. @Connect shows who has mentioned you and suggests some accounts you might want to follow. #Discover shows what’s trending and points you to notable stories and videos.
One major difference on the homepage is that tweets appear on the right side and take up less real estate than they used to.

Mobile apps for iPhone and Android have also been updated.

One main thrust of the redesign is making “Twitter more accessible for all 7 billion people on the planet,” Jack Dorsey, chairman of Twitter, said during a press conference at Twitter’s soon-to-be new headquarters in San Francisco on Thursday. Dorsey added that the company has made it “simpler not just for people already engaged but easier for new people to discover it and find value in it. It’s the best place to represent yourself on the Internet.”

 Twitter Introduces Brand Pages
Twitter on Thursday (Dec 9) announced a program for Facebook-style brand pages.
The announcement, which was coupled with the introduction of a major redesign, will expand the number of brand pages on the platform. Launch partners for the pages include American Express, Best Buy, Bing, Chevrolet, Coca-Cola, Dell, Disney, General Electric, Hewlitt-Packard, Intel, JetBlue, Kia, McDonald’s, Nike, PepsiCo, Staples, Verizon Wireless, NYSE Euronext, Heineken, Subway and Paramount Pictures, specifically for the release of Mission: Impossible — Ghost Protocol.

According to a report in Advertising Age, such brand pages will let advertisers customize their headers to make their logo and tagline more prominent. Twitter’s Advertising Blog also notes that brands can “control the message visitors see when they first come to your profile page by promoting a tweet to the top of your page’s timeline.” The idea is to highlight your best content. The Promoted Tweet on a marketer’s profile page will appear auto-expanded to let visitors instantly see the photo or video content linked from a tweet. The new design also lets brands separate their @ replies and mentions, according to Ad Age‘s report.

Web Applications Development

Web Application Development is the process and practice of developing web applications. Web Application development creates unique software applications that can be used for websites, desktops and intranets. The full featured Web Applications Solutions encompass App Development, App integration, Application Maintenance and Support, Internet Marketing Services (SEO), Social Media Services. Web applications are business strategies and policies implemented on the Web through the use of User, Business and Data services.

Need of Web application Development

There are many entities that require applications for the Business-to-Business interaction. Many industries in the world today demand to do business with each other over secure and private networks. This process is becoming increasingly popular with a lot of overseas companies who outsource projects to each other.

The Web Application Model

The Web application model, like many software development models, is constructed upon 3 tiers: User Services, Business Services and Data Services. This model breaks an application into a network of consumers and suppliers of services.

The Phases in a Web Application Project

The Web application development process has 4 phases:

1. Envisioning the nature and direction of the project
2. Devising the plan
3. Development
4. Testing, support and stability

Risk

Web applications have varying levels of risk. A personal home page is much less risky than, for example, a stock trading web site. For some projects security, software bugs, etc. are major issues. If time to market or technical complexity is a concern, documentation, test planning, change control, requirements analysis, architectural description and formal design and construction practices can mitigate risk.

PRE WEB DESIGN PROCESS

Work on Wire frames

Wire framing is the key process that we usually follow to show our clients the basic structure of the website. It does not include any color or styling just the basic structure to show clients how their website will look like. In this process you will also dig on the usability issues as well as the user visibility ratio.
There are many different tools as there. You can do the wire frame on paper or use online tools like Printable wire framing tools.
After you done with the wire framing and information architecture show it to your clients. The follow up with your requirements, discuss with the elements usability factors with them. If they are satisfied go with it or if they re not then work on the wireframing again.

Core Design Implementation

After you get green signal from your client on wireframed structure, you know how information will be placed within a browser. Now it is time to start on design implementation. Which means styling, giving color effects. Most of the designers use Photoshop or  Fireworks. There are so many different tools on internet to implement a nice, elegant website frame.

Benefits

You will find out benefits if you follow this process. Some of the key points given below:

WEB DESIGNING

It is a process of conceptualization, planning, modeling, and execution of electronic media content delivery via Internet in the form of technologies (such as markup languages) suitable for interpretation and display by a web browser or other web-based graphical user interfaces (GUI).

The best way to define a website is by saying that 'it is the figments of imagination of the website designer who creates the site by bringing his ideas into reality and by merging them with some the functionalities to make it user and search engine friendly. The process of web designing is basically an artistic and creative process but when is surpasses the stage of designing and reaches the level of web development then the process becomes more of an intellectual process wherein the website developer needs to put and incorporate all the latest technologies and applications to make the website easy to be understood and use.

Apart from these the other aspects you need to necessarily keep in mind before you ask your service provider to start with the designing processes are:

  • Business of the website
  • Target audience
  • Products & services it will offer
  • Means of delivery of product
  • Theme
  • Color combination
  • Images
  • Graphics
  • Flash and many more
Once you are clear with all these aspects, it will not only help you in having a clear vision for your site and business but will also help your service provider understand your requirements in a better way.
